T-Shirt Bras

A well-fitting t-shirt bra is one of the most worn items in our wardrobes, serving as the foundation for countless outfits. I always look out for styles that feel comfortable and smooth against the body, providing support without any digging or pinching.

Pro Tip: When wearing a tank top, choose a t-shirt bra with a racerback style. You can also use a bra clip to convert a regular t-shirt bra into a racerback. One of my favorite tricks for hiding straps under tanks is wearing a neutral racerback sports bra, like this one from Beyond Yoga.

Underwear

Common mistake: wearing lace thongs. Let me explain:

I have never been a fan of lace thongs. Personally, I find them uncomfortable and a bit itchy. The worst part is that they don’t seem to stay in place. They shift around instead of hugging the body or sitting smoothly on the hips. Due to the the texture of the lace, it often shows through clothing, creating visible lines or lumps that can ruin an otherwise clean look. If you love lace thongs, I recommend wearing them only under thicker fabrics or denim to prevent them from showing through.

Stringys Invisible Seamless Underwear

TC Fine Intimates Micro Matte Boyshorts- Although these are technically underwear, you can wear a thin (commando-style) thong underneath depending on the garment. With the current sheer trend, they are perfect to have on hand for under sheer dresses, skirts, and pants. Last month, I styled a client in semi-sheer lace pants with these underneath, and it worked perfectly.

Pro tip: If your dress or skirt keeps riding up while you move or dance, wearing shorts underneath helps keep the top layer in place.

Department Stores

Harrods-It’s always my first stop after landing in London, and honestly, it might be where I want to be laid to rest haha. Harrods is my happy place. It is less a department store and more its own city, spanning seven floors and over a million square feet, with 330 departments offering everything from fine jewelry to baby clothes, caviar to couture. It is essentially Disneyland for devoted shoppers.

• Pro tip: Join Harrods Rewards before you visit. Share your member number at checkout to earn one point per pound spent, with every 500 points worth five pounds in rewards. And before you leave, stop by The Grill in the Food Hall for the rotisserie chicken. It truly lives up to the hype.

Selfridges-Much like Harrods, Selfridges offers incredible shopping across every category, but what makes it stand out is how it feels part of the cultural zeitgeist. The store revolutionized window displays as a form of storytelling and continues that legacy with creative pop-ups and exclusive events. I also really appreciate how sustainability is front and center through its Project Earth initiative, which promotes circular fashion, resale, and repair. This year I noticed that they switched out large sections of new merchandise to an expansive vintage section. I haven’t seen that much vintage in a department store before which was a refreshing and fun change.

Liberty-Liberty London is one of my favorite places to wander. The Tudor-style building draws you in, and once inside it feels like stepping into another world. I love popping in on every visit because you never know what will catch your eye or spark inspiration. Between the fashion, homewares, and those iconic Liberty prints, there is always something unique to discover, and I love just taking it all in. For me, it’s less about shopping and more about the experience of exploring a space that feels endlessly creative and quintessentially British.

• Just a short walk from Liberty is the Maison Assouline bookstore, which I highly recommend

Boutiques

Annie’s Ibiza-I love wandering the streets of Soho, and one shop I always make a point to visit is Annie’s Ibiza. Originally from Ibiza, where it earned a reputation as a celebrity favorite, the London boutique is just as special. The store is an eclectic mix of bohemian, vintage, and party ready pieces, from one of a kind dresses to statement accessories. The moment you step inside, it feels like a giant celebration, vibrant, youthful, and effortlessly cool. I love chatting with the cute, stylish sales associates who make shopping feel like hanging with friends.

Massimo Dutti- With no California locations, I always make a point to shop there. There are multiple locations throughout the city and I personally feel like it is a slightly elevated version of Zara.

Machine-A: A boutique located in soho that blends streetwear and avant garde fashion. You can find names like like Raf Simons, Craig Green, and Maison Margiela alongside emerging designers. It’s a space that feels more like discovery than shopping, raw, creative, and completely in tune with what’s next in fashion

Lover’s Lane London-It doesn’t get more charming than Notting Hill. The streets are lined with adorable restaurants, and I can’t help thinking of Notting Hill with Julia Roberts. Vintage lovers will be in heaven exploring gems like Rellik, Found and Vision, and One of a Kind Archive.

While You’re Here:

-Visit: The V&A’s fashion exhibits is always a highlight for me. I love how each show offers a fresh perspective on style, craftsmanship, and culture. The current exhibit, Marie Antoinette Style and Splendour, is on display through March 22.

-HOFA art gallery: If you’re near HOFA Gallery in Mayfair, it’s worth taking a little time to wander the surrounding streets. The area is full of some of London’s best contemporary galleries. Just around the corner you’ll find Sadie Coles HQ, David Zwirner, Thaddaeus Ropac, and Almine Rech, alongside classics like Gagosian and Hauser & Wirth. It’s the perfect neighborhood for an afternoon of gallery-hopping for some creative inspiration.

Stores

The Broken Arm-Some of my favorite stores around the world are concept stores like The Broken Arm. There is something about them that feels like discovering hidden treasures, spaces built to create a mood, not just sell clothing. Tucked away on Rue Perrée, it is part boutique, part café, and part bookstore. I love browsing their curated labels and design books, then grabbing a coffee and pastry all in one spot.

Preclothed- Out of all the vintage stores I visited in Paris, Preclothed was my favorite. The selection was incredible, and every piece we tried on was in pristine condition, which was truly impressive. My mom and I felt so fortunate to have the opportunity to try on iconic pieces from Alaïa, Saint Laurent, and Phoebe Philo’s Celine. I can’t stress enough how amazing the staff was. They asked us what we were looking for and went out of their way to pull curated items from the back for us. The store itself was just as remarkable as the clothing it houses, with a warm, sophisticated, and old-world sophistication that reminded me of interiors at The Row’s boutiques. The cherry on top was my mom leaving with one of the most stunning finds I’ve ever seen, a burgundy Hermès leather jacket from the 80s.

Le Bon Marche-They have a lot of european brands that are hard to find in person in LA such as Destree. It’s not like you can’t get these brands such as online through net-a-porter or buying directly through the websites but it’s hard to tell quality, fit, etc while shopping online so it’s inmeasured value to see these brands and pieces in person. They also carried brands that I haven’t heard before which I love to shop and discover new brands.

Vintage on top of the Printemps Haussmann Department Store-While I was in Paris, I hang out with my friend Sonia, a stylist at Moda Operandi. We met while colleagues there, and as a Paris native with impeccable fashion taste, I knew the vintage spot she recommended would be special. The store was a bit tricky to find, which makes it feel like a true hidden gem. It is located on the top floor of Printemps Haussmann, accessible only by a specific elevator in the mall and without Sonia, I doubt I would have been able to find the store. The vintage selection was incredible, and the store itself was beautiful. Outside the glass doors of the store, it has a sweeping deck with a view of Paris that took my breath away. It reminded me of the scene in The Summer I Turned Pretty when Belly shows Conrad a panoramic view of the city. On top of that, Printemps also hosts rotating fashion exhibits, and while I was there, it was all about handbags, which made the visit even more worthwhile.

While You’re Here:

-Go to Cafe De Flore: There is nothing quite like sitting outside at a café in Paris, sipping a coffee or a spritz, and watching the city go by. People watching in Saint-Germain-des-Prés is a pastime in itself, and there’s no better place for it than at iconic spots like Café de Flore or Les Deux Magots. The neighborhood has long been a hub for writers, artists, and thinkers, and you can still feel that creative energy in the air. Even on a warm, sunny day, most people around me were ordering the café’s legendary hot chocolate because it is that good, and honestly, it feels like something you simply have to try at least once.

-Azzedine Alaïa Foundation: Stepping into 18 rue de la Verrerie, where Azzedine Alaïa lived and worked, felt surreal. The moment you enter, it’s as if you have been personally invited into his home, intimate, quiet, and sacred, the kind of space that instantly commands your respect. The Azzedine Alaïa Foundation preserves not only his work but also the art, fashion, and design pieces he collected throughout his life. When I visited, the entire 2003 couture collection was on display, each look a reminder of his mastery of form and fabric. What moved me most, though, was the window looking into his untouched workspace. It remains exactly as it was the day he passed, with patterns, sketches, and tools frozen in time. Standing there, I couldn’t help but think about the years of devotion, the sleepless nights, and the pieces of fashion history born in that very room.

I started with an olive green maxi skirt from the Spanish brand Cortana. I have worn this skirt to events before, usually paired with the matching top and belt, as seen below, but I wanted something fresh for this wedding. The key was finding a new top that complemented the skirt in both fabric and formality.

My first thought was to pair it with a silk or satin piece, since the skirt’s fabric has a fluid quality. But after trying on a few of my satin tops, nothing felt quite right. Then I pulled out a Norma Kamali black wrap top made from polyester and spandex. Even though it isn’t silk, the fabric has a similar sheen, which helped it blend beautifully with the skirt.

To tie everything together, I added a vintage black leather belt. Not only did it balance the two pieces together, it also leaned into the Tahoe setting of the wedding. I finished the look with vintage Celine heels, jewelry I already own, a Prada clutch, and sunglasses.

In the end, I loved how the outfit turned out and the best part was that it cost me nothing.

If you are staring at your closet before the next wedding on your calendar, I hope this inspires you to shop your own wardrobe first. Sometimes the perfect look is already hanging there, you just need to style it in a new way.

Sweater weather is just around the corner, which means it is time to pull your cozy knits from storage and get them ready for the season ahead. As much as we love them, sweaters can be delicate are prone to pilling, stretching, and the occasional snag. With a little TLC, though, they will last for years. Below, you will find my best tips for preventing sweater damage and fixing the common issues that pop up over time.

Snags

Open weave, loose knit, and lightweight fabrics are more prone to snags, so you should be extra careful when wearing these types of sweaters. Do not panic if you notice a snag, the worst thing you can do is to cut it. Instead, you can fix it by weaving the noticeable snag back into the pattern with your fingers or with a bobby pin! Here is a video with a demo if you need!

How to Prevent Piling

When it comes to sweaters, fabric composition makes a big difference. Synthetic fibers are more prone to pilling than natural ones like wool or cotton. To keep your sweaters looking fresh, gently use a soft toothbrush to lift away lint, dandruff, dust, or hair before it builds up. For washing, turn sweaters inside out and hand wash with a detergent that contains the enzyme cellulase, plus a fabric softener to coat the fibers and minimize abrasion. After washing, opt to air dry your sweaters instead of throwing them into the dryer. Friction from the items tumbling against each other in the dryer can create pilling.

How to Fix Piling

To tackle pilling, a pumice stone is an effective and budget friendly option. It is a simple tool that gently lifts pills from the surface as you rub it across the fabric. You can purchase one here!

Another option is a fabric shaver, which can quickly remove fuzz and refresh knits. Just be careful not to press too hard, as that can take off more fabric than intended. For best results, choose a fabric shaver with changeable heads or adjustable settings so you can control how closely the blade rests against your knit. I recommend this fabric shaver!

Moth Prevention & Repair

It is super annoying when you finally pull your favorite sweater out of storage only to discover that is has tiny holes in it caused by moths. Since moths are drawn to natural fibers like wool, cashmere, and alpaca, prevention is key. It is important to remember to wash or dry clean your sweaters before storing them away for the warmer months. Pesky moths are attracted to lingering food particles, body oils, and even perfume. For storing your sweaters, I recommend storing them in breathable cotton bags or airtight containers, and add natural repellents like cedar blocks, cedar balls, or lavender sachets to deter moths without using any harsh chemicals.

If you do find moth damage, don’t panic. Small holes can usually be repaired by darning (weaving new yarn into the damaged area) or with the help of a tailor. Catching moth damage early can save your sweaters. A tiny hole is far easier to repair than a larger one, which can quickly develop if a small hole goes unnoticed and worsens as you wear it. Also, if you catch the problem in one sweater early, you should check the rest of your knits and your storage space. That way, you can prevent the moths from creating more damage to other sweaters.

Fold Your Sweaters…ALWAYS

As tempting as it is to hang your sweaters alongside the rest of your tops, hanging is one of the quickest ways to damage your sweaters. Gravity pulls downward on the weight of the knit which leads to stretching, sagging shoulders, and an overall distorted fit. Hanging is especially bad with heavier knits like wool or cashmere. Instead, always fold sweaters neatly and stack them on a shelf or store them in a drawer. If space is tight, you can fold sweaters over a hanger. Here is a video on how to fold sweaters using a hanger!

I saw this damaged sweater hanging in Bloomingdales recently :( The shoulders are all stretched out, and the whole sweater is way longer than it should.

Below is a breakdown of some great wedding heel options to help make the search a little easier:

The Slingback

I love a good slingback heel—especially for spring and summer weddings. I wore these Aquazzura heels at my own wedding and couldn’t have been happier with them. They were timeless, and honestly the most comfortable heels I have ever worn. I loved them so much that I bought them in other colors too.

Platform

Platforms are a great choice—especially if you are wearing a fuller dress where your shoes won’t really be visible. So why not go with the most comfortable heel option—platforms! They give you plenty of height, the block heel makes them ideal for grass or uneven terrain, and they are comfortable enough to keep you dancing all night long.

The Standard Pump

Closed toe pumps are the most classic and traditional option. They are a great pick if you are on the shorter side or if your heels might peek out from under your dress. The pointed toe helps create a clean line that elongates the silhouette, making you look taller. The only downside to pumps is that they are not typically the comfiest. I suggest having a backup pair ready, whether it is for your second look or to swap into for the after-party.

Non-white Option

Wearing a non-white shoe for your wedding day is a fun way to mix things up! One large advantage is that you do not have to worry about matching the exact shade of white to your dress. Also, non-white heels are way easier to re-wear for future occasions! For color, you can go bold with a pop of color, stick with a neutral metallic, or even use them as your “something blue.”

A well-fitting, crisp tee is the ultimate staple—something we all fall back on when we are unsure of what to wear. When creating a wardrobe from scratch, I always begin with timeless basics, as they never go out of style. My go-to uniform can be seen above. Fast forward to last week in Hawaii, I challenged myself to transform this same dress into an appropriate dinner outfit. Since the dress is pretty sheer, the key was choosing the right undergarments, proving how fundamental undergarments are to achieving a desired look.
